Abstract

"Exxon Mobil Corporation (Exxon Mobil) is a manufacturer and marketer of commodity petrochemicals, including olefins, aromatics, polyethylene and polypropylene plastics and a range of specialty products." (NYT) It is known throughout the world by several derivitives of its corporate name - Exxon, Mobil, ExxonMobile, and, a bit differently, Esso. According to Hoover's, it is the the largest of all intergrated oil companies in the world with 36 refineries processing an estimated 6.3 million barrels of oil per day in over 20 countries. The current focus of the company seems to be, if not shifting, than at minimum expanding as the oil behemoth furthers research and business in alternative energy solutions.
